Lois Torgerson

July 03, 1928 - August 10, 2017

Lois Torgerson Obituary (Age 89) Lois Harriet Glock Torgerson, born the oldest of 5 children to Conrad and Hilda (Brodhagen) Glock in Appleton Minnesota, July 3, 1928. She went home to be with Jesus peacefully in her sleep, on August 10, 2017. Lois father, a minister, often took her along when visiting parishioners, she enjoyed their time together. Little did she know; she would one day become a Pastors wife and visitation Pastor herself. She never stopped learning. She worked her way through college, earning a BS degree in Food and Nutrition from University of Wisconsin and completed an internship at University of WA, Seattle, followed by working in hospitals: Harborview, Childrens Hospital and Virginia Mason. While in Seattle, she met and married Glen Orion Torgerson, who attended Seminary, Northwest University. Moving to Moscow, ID they pastored a church while she worked for both University of Idaho and Washington State University in Dietetics. In 1954, they moved to Spokane where she worked for both Rockwood Clinic and Sacred Heart Hospitals. Then she suffered the loss of her beloved husband Glen to a heart attack in 1979. Bravely continued her work at hospital and church until retiring as The Director of Food and Nutrition Services (Dietetics), with over 40 years of service. Soon after she began fulfilling her love of history and culture, traveling to over 50 different countries. For years Lois attended Redeemer Lutheran Church, Spokane, WA, where she served as a prominent member of the congregation and Pastor of prayer and visitation. During that time (1995), she moved to Riverview Retirement Community, and enjoyed serving as President of Residents Association (10 yrs), loved ministering with the Chapel program, and shared interesting travel logs with residents. During her last years there, Lois suffered severe dementia but now lives healthy, in Heaven. Lois is survived by brother Charles (Shirley) Glock, sisters Iola (Jack) Stroehien and Janet (Allen) Kock, sister-in-law Bonnie Glock (Ron, deceased) and several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and precious friends. Shes preceded in death by her parents, husband Glen, son Ron, daughter-in-law Kathleen and brother Ronald Glock. A viewing will be held Thursday, August 17, 2017 from 10:00AM to 5:00PM and Friday, August 18, 2017 8:00AM to 5:00PM. A graveside service will be held at Glacier Memorial Cemetery, Kalispell, MT beside her beloved husband on Saturday, August 19 at 1:00PM. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at 2:00PM at Riverview Retirement Community Chapel, 1801 E.
