Lore E. Hannes Obituary (Age 88) Passed away Sunday August 1, 2010. Lore was born August 23, 1921 in Aschaffenburg, Germany and came to Spokane in 1944 by way of London and New York City. She arrived in Spokane as a "war bride" where she patiently waited for her husband Wilfred to return from the war. Together they raised a family and lived a wonderful life together until he died in 1990. Lore always had a kind word and a big smile for everyone she came into contact with, from the third and fourth graders at Wilson School whom she helped learn to read, to her neighbors at the Waterford where she enjoyed the last six years of her life. She loved working in her garden,traveling with family and friends and enjoying a good glass of wine with dinner. We will all miss her cheery disposition and that special twinkle in her eye. Lore is survived by her son Ron Hannes and wife Cara of Spokane; daughter Kathy Golden and husband Mike of Medical Lake; granddaughter Mollie Treppiedi and husband Tom and great-grandson Collin of Spokane and granddaughter Meghan Hannes of Seattle. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at Mt. Nebo Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Temple Beth Shalom, 1322 E. 30th Ave. Spokane 99203 or to a charity of your choice.
