Loren L. "Bud" Lesser Obituary (Age 88) Passed away March 16 at Hospice House of Spokane. He was born in Irby, WA on August 22, 1922. He attended Odessa High School through the 11th grade. There he met is loving wife of 66 years, Phyllis Schillinger, they were married April 9, 1944, in Spokane. As a young man he worked for a local garage in Odessa, and then with Lincoln County Road Dept. and Standard Asphalt doing road maintenance. He enlisted with the U.S. Army on January 11, 1945 and served with the Army Corp of Engineers, with a tour of duty in the Philippines & Japan. He was honorably discharged as a sergeant, on November 25, 1946. He returned to Odessa where he was a wheat farmer. The family moved to Spokane in 1951 where he worked as a mechanic. He then went to work at Betts Oil Company initially working as a home fuel delivery driver while farming in Odessa during the spring and summer. He eventually worked as a heating/cooling technician for Betts Oil until he retired. Loren enjoyed working on anything with a motor in it, wood working, and gardening. He was Mom's "handyman", and could fix anything. He was a member of the Odessa VFW and the Odessa Grange. He was preceded in death by his parents Henry & Mollie Lesser, his sister Dorothy Cornelius, and brother Harold Lesser. He is survived by his adoring wife Phyllis, his children Greg (RuthAnn), Bruce (Sheila), Jeff (Tina), and Lori Lesser, grandchildren Stefanie Lesser, and Jeff Lesser, Jr. (and fianc? Monique Weston), great-grandchildren Trenton & Tyler Elizondo, all of Spokane. Also by his sisters Laverna Dormaier, Spokane; Janice Eckhart, Moses Lake; and Eldora Ball, Everett, WA, as well as numerous cousins, nieces & nephews. Visitation will be from 8:00AM to 4:00 PM Saturday, March 19th at Heritage Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Noon, Monday, March 21st at Heritage Chapel. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice House of Spokane, P.O. Box 2215, Spokane, WA 99210.
