Lt. Col. Wallace L. Matlock Obituary Lt. Col. Wallace L. Matlock passed away November 10, 2011 joining the love of his life, Irene, in a bigger adventure. Wallace was born on July 30, 1925 in Sioux City, Iowa but lived in Deadwood where his father was the local doctor. However, he soon moved to Sacramento, California with his mother and sister, Sally Kimmel. He served his country in the US Air Force and served in three wars; WWII, The Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He was always ready to ?Nuke the bastards.? He married for a second time to his ?Pearl of Loveliness? and is survived by his 2nd wife, Hazel Sue Armstrong. He is also survived by his sister, Sally Kimmel. He raise seven fiercely independent children: Dr. Michael Murphy & wife Diane, son Shawn & daughter Megan; Mary Ann Murphy & daughter Gaby and Bill Scully, Jessica Lysons & Miles Finley, son, Nick Glatzer & 4 great-grandchildren, Nora, Glen, Adam, Kathleen Matlock & husband, Martin Hahn & son, Julian & daughter, Cecily; Irene Matlock Helen Matlock & daughter Erin Naipo, son, Jesse & wife, Katie & sons, Sonny Bonnie & Tod Francis & sons Taylor Wallace L. Matlock III & wife, Nina & son, Spencer. Wallace?s spirit stays with us through his family?s continuing ethical stand on justice and self-determination. A memorial has yet to be planned.
