Lucille C. Moore Obituary "She bade no one a last farewell She said 'Goodnight' to none, Her loving heart had ceased to beat Before we knew she was gone" On May 10, 2009 mother Lucille Moore went home to be with the Lord. She was born August 10, 1910 in Hope, Arkansas. She was the only child of Louis and Georgia Smith. She married Nathaniel Moore, Sr. at the age of 16 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. To this union was added seven children. After several moves, she and Nathaniel and the family settled in Spokane, WA. She joined Morning Star Baptist Church. She was president of the mission for 35 years. She was president of several offices for the North Pacific Baptist convention. She was also a devoted Sunday School teacher. She is preceded in death by her husband Nathaniel Moore, Sr.; three sons, Rudy R. Moore, Louis N. Moore and Lloyd R. Moore. Those left to mourn her passing are two sons, Nathaniel Moore, Jr and wife Diana, Gerald Moore and wife Melissa; two daughters, Della Todd and husband Albert, Geraldine Anderson and husband Hector, East Orange, NJ; fifteen grandchildren; twenty five great-grand-children; four great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and friends. A viewing will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2009 from 12 to 5 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 15, 2009 at 1 p.m. at Morning Star Baptist Church. "There's an open gate at the end of the road, through which each one must go alone, And there is light we cannot see, our Father claims his own, Beyond that gate, your loved ones find happiness and rest; And there is comfort in the thought that a loving God knows best." The family of Lucille Moore would like to thank each and everyone for their kind and thoughtful expression of love and sympathy shown during their hour of sorrow.
