July 15, 1948 - June 5, 2024

Margaret Ann (Knehans) Hansen, 75, of Colbert, WA was called to her eternal rest on June 5, 2024.

Official Obituary of Margaret Ann Hansen

Margaret, the fourth of seven children, was born on July 15, 1948 to Erich Knehans, Sr. and Margaret Knehans in Red Cloud Nebraska. The family lived in many small towns across Nebraska.

Margaret met her husband, Gerald Hansen, at the University of Wyoming. In 1971, they married and moved to Spokane where they attended Holy Cross Lutheran Church. They had four children Katherine (1973), Jonathan (1976), Ruth (1978), and Andrew (1981).

Margaret worked as a CPA until her first child was born. She dedicated her time to raising her children and volunteering in many roles at Holy Cross and Spokane Lutheran School. Margaret returned to her career as a CPA and retired from Batty, Erlandsen & Associates in 2010. She also remained active with the church and was instrumental establishing Sonshine Preschool.

In 1991, Margaret was diagnosed with breast cancer. She worked, raised kids, and did chemotherapy at the same time. In 2013, she was given six months to live but the tough farm girl from Nebraska made it until 2024. She enjoyed her time during these years, at the ocean, reading, and hosting gatherings for family and friends.

Margaret is survived by her husband and children. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Margaret loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

The memorial is 12 pm Thursday June 20, 2024 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church
