November 20, 1931-October 10, 2025

Our beloved Margaret died of natural causes on October 10, 2025, in Spokane, Washington. Born to Mary (Molenda) and Elmer James, in Polson, Montana, she grew up in the Flathead Lake area. Her mother passed away when Margaret was 2 years old, then she and her sister Ethel, were raised by their father Elmer James, and with their Aunt Ethel and Uncle Roy Dickson. Margaret attended Polson High School. She married the love of her life, Walter Joseph Fetch, on May 28, 1949. They celebrated 60 years of marriage together, prior to Walter passing away in 2009. During the first 9 years of married life they lived in Polson, Kalispell, and Eureka, Montana. Walter’s job at Safeway brought them to Spokane in 1958.

Margaret was a homemaker. She was a devout and faithful member of the Northside Church of Christ, and recently Colbert Church of Christ. She enjoyed helping at church, teaching Sunday school, volunteering with Meals on Wheels, crafts, sewing, reading, yard sales, collecting lighthouse memorabilia, visiting with family and friends, and hosting gatherings at their home. She found great happiness and purpose in fostering infants and babies. Together Margaret and Walt fostered more than 80 infants and babies over the course of 11 years. Her travels to Montana, exploring back roads, (counting every horse along the way) and especially the Oregon Coast brought her great joy.
Preceding her in death are her parents Mary and Elmer James, her sisters Ethel Holder and Violet James, husband Walter Fetch, and son Terry Fetch. She is survived by her daughter Valerie (Wesley) Matthews, Pullman, WA, son Tracy (Regina) Fetch, Spokane, WA, daughter Melissa Fetch, Spokane, WA, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many loving relatives.
Margaret will be forever loved and cherished in our hearts and memories.
A Memorial Service will be held on November 1, 2025 at 4 pm, at the Colbert Church of Christ, 16205 North Yale Road, Colbert, WA 99205
