Margaret Evelyn Smith Obituary Passed away on July 28, 2012, at the age of 97 while living at Moran Vista Senior Living in Spokane, WA. Margaret was born on October 8, 1914, to Merton and Elinor Sherk in Wakonda, SD. She married Russell Smith July 28, 1933, in Nebraska. She spent her time as a homemaker, caring for their nine children. She, Russell, and the three youngest children moved to Spokane in 1969. Margaret enjoyed trying new recipes, sewing for her family, quilting, crocheting, reading, working crossword puzzles, and gardening. She is survived by her children Kenneth Smith, Kay Stammerjohan, Keith Smith, Kermit Smith, Karen Gage (Frederick), Kris Krell (Tom), and Karla Erickson (Dan); 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; one brother; and one sister. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Russell, of 58 years, her parents, six brothers, six sisters, and one grandchild. A Graveside Service will be held at Fairmount Memorial Park cemetery August 2, 2012, at 1 pm. Margaret's family would like to thank the wonderful staffs of Moran Vista Senior Living and Family Home Care & Hospice for all the loving care given to Margaret. Remembrances can be made to Family Home Care & Hospice at 22820 East Appleway Avenue, Liberty Lake, WA.
