September 30, 1920 - August 12, 2009

Marie Ellen (Jacoy) Hill Obituary On August 12, 2009 this earth lost one very special soul. Marie entered into rest at her home of over 60 years. She was the only daughter of Peter M. and Serina Jacoy and the last surviving sibling. Marie married the love of her life Donald Q. Hill on December 18, 1938; they were married until his death in 2003. Marie was devoted to her family, friends, and to her beautiful flower gardens. She was Past President, and member of Dandy Diggers and Associated Garden Clubs of Spokane. She was a 60 year member of Adelphi #188 Order of Eastern Star and Charter Member of Jobs Daughters Bethel 1. Marie sold Avon for over 40 years. She was also diligent about the right to vote and never missed "election duty" staffing her voting precinct at Madison Elementary. Although she did not live near all of her grandchildren, she surrounded herself with their photographs and was proud of their many accomplishments. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, of 64 years; her parents: Peter M. and Serina Jacoy; brothers: Frank, Andrew, Paul, and Robert; and great grandchild: Manuel Techaira. She is survived by her daughters: Diana Wilkerson (Leon) of Lawtey, FL; Pamela Rector (Lou) of Everett, WA; Serina Dettwiler (Rick) of Spokane, WA; and Sherry Moe of Nine Mile Falls, WA and one son: Larry Hill of Melbourne, Australia. She had nine grandchildren: Douglas, Colleen, Laurel, Susan, Branson, Chanton, Beau, Georgia, and Rachel; ten great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and loving cousins. For those of you who never met our mom, you really missed a wonderful woman. A woman you would never forget and always think highly of. She made a lifelong lasting impression on us all and we loved her so very dearly. We were all truly blessed to have known her. Any donations may be made to Hospice of Spokane. Visitation will be Saturday and Monday from 8:00AM to 5:00PM with funeral services to follow Tuesday August 18, 2009 11:00AM.
