Marie Valentine Jones

Marie Valentine Jones, age 100, entered into rest May 10, 2025. Marie was born, February 14, 1925, in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, to Alonzo and Henrietta Osborn.


She graduated from Bonners Ferry High School. Marie was one of the first women to drive for Spokane City Lines (Spokane Transit Authority). She retired after 37 years of service.


She enjoyed playing her guitar, ping-pong, rock rolling, square dancing, clogging, swimming, water skiing and travel. She is survived by her sister, Rita Hanley; daughter, Lonette Kopplin; son, Michael (Kathy) McLean; daughter in-law, Agnes McLean; grandchildren, Robert C. (Teneile) McLean, Jesse (Davinia) Kopplin, Johnathon McLean, Kari McLean and Ginny (Brian) Palmer; great-grandchildren, Conner Tometz, Connor Kopplin, Cassandra Vanlanot, Ellianna Palmer, Zoe Kopplin, and Robert Palmer; great-great-grandchildren, Michael, Estella, Westin and Emberlyn.


Marie was preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Crandall; husband, Don Jones; stepson, Edward Jones; grandson, Jeremy McLean; great-granddaughter, Tessa Palmer; and son, Robert N. McLean.


Marie’s funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 4th, at Heritage Funeral Home, 508 N. Government Way, Spokane, WA, beginning with a period of visitation at 11am, followed by a funeral service at 1pm, and a 2:30pm graveside service at Fairmount Memorial Park.
