Marilyn Joan Thompson Obituary Marilyn Joan Thompson lost her battle with cancer on January 7th surrounded by family. Marilyn spent her childhood on the family farm in Lamont, Washington. She earned her nursing degree in Spokane where she fell in love with her husband of 47 years, Robert Webster Thompson. They made their home in Poway, California. Marilyn was a devoted mother to her three adoring children, James, Michael and Laura Thompson. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. Marilyn also enjoyed working for Dr. David A. Edwards at North County Ophthalmology for over 25 years where she made many friends. Marilyn is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, sister, Sherrill (Don) Nelson, two brothers, Jim (Carol) and Wayne (Linda) Kelly as well as many nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate Marilyn's life will be held January 15, 2011, 11:00 am at the Heritage Funeral Home. Marilyn will be laid to rest in Spokane Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society in honor of Marilyn J. Thompson
