Marilyn Joyce (Smith) Oye Obituary (Age 80) A loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother passed away in her Spokane home after a long battle with cancer on September 6, 2016. Marilyn was born on September 2, 1936 in St. Maries, ID, to Herman and Myrtle Smith. She moved to Spokane in March 1943. Marilyn & Harvey met March 5, 1955 (61 years ago) and she married into a big family of five sisters and one brother on October 14, 1955. She worked as a florist for 22 years at Northtown. She loved playing cards with friends and family, crocheting, playing the piano and traveling the world. Marilyn was an attending member of the Community of Christ Church in the Spokane Valley. She attended Logan school and graduated from Rogers High School in 1954. Family members left behind are Harvey A. Oye, her devoted lifelong friend and husband of 61 years, two sons Shane and Mark Oye, two daughters Marnie and Holly Oye and sister Bonnie (Randy) Newman, grandchildren Matthew, Rhett, Lucas, and Bethany, great-grandchildren Sailar and Jade, along with many nephews, nieces, cousins, and dear friends who love her. She is preceded in death by two daughters Sheri and Ruth. Viewing will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on Saturday, September 10th from 10:00 am � 5:00 pm, and Monday, September 12th from 10:00 am � 5:00 pm.
