Marilyn Kay Booth Obituary Marilyn Kay Booth, age 65, died peacefully on Thursday, December 24, 2015 at Moran Vista surrounded by her family in Spokane, WA. Marilyn was diagnosed with earlyonset Alzheimer�s at just age 56 which eventually took her life. Although it was a devastating disease, Marilyn lived each day with bravery, laughter, and a great big smile. She truly brought joy to all those she encountered on her journey. Marilyn had an unwavering faith in God. Her trust in God, combined with the love, prayers, and support of family and friends carried her though to the end of her life. She was born on March 14th, 1950 in Spokane, WA to Mac and Alma McClenny. She fondly remembered spending countless hours with her brother Larry and cousins Jimmy, Eloise, Betty, Bill, Ann, & Donny Morlin entertaining each other as kids. throughout her life she maintained a sweet and loving demeanor. Caregiving came naturally as she spent her entire career working as a devoted Registered Nurse at Eastern State Hospital. She was adored by both her patients and co-workers. As a teen, Marilyn worked at Rosauers Supermarket while attending Shadle Park High School. Soon after graduation, she briefly moved to Texas, then Savannah, Georgia where her oldest daughter, Wendy Kay, was born. She then moved back to Spokane and had her daughter Lori Kristine and finally her boy, Travis Ian. In 1994, Marilyn married her high school sweetheart, Donn Patrick Booth. Donn and Marilyn were devoted to each other and shared a special bond. They had an unspoken language which was a gift to witness. Some of their favorite memories included walking their dogs Mac and Scotty, watching the Mariners, annual camping trips in their RV to Pioneer Park, and simply spending time together at their home on 44th. They especially enjoyed the rewards of working in their garden. Marilyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donn Booth. She is survived by her children, Wendy (Erik), Lori (Dan), Travis (Deana), and 7 beautiful grandchildren, Cassidy, Lexie, Annika, Justin, Sarah, Emma and Ben, and by her brother, Larry (Pam)along with several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by Donn's daughters Kristen and Lindsey and grandkids, Zac and Eden. A Celebration of Life will be held at Heritage Funeral Home, 508 N. Government Way in Spokane, WA Monday Jan 4, 2016 at 2 pm. A reception will follow at Cascade Park Community Club House, 2311 W 16th Ave, Spokane, WA. In honor of Marilyn and her favorite color, the family has chosen to wear something pink to her Celebration of Life and would like to invite those who attend her memorial to do so as well. We would like to give special thanks to the exceptional care provided by the staff at Moran Vista & Horizon Hospice. We would also like to thank our family and friends for their love and support during these past difficult months. The urn which contains Marilyn's earthly remains nicely sums up her life in one sentence: Our angel who lived, laughed, and loved. Marilyn will always be remembered fondly for her contagious laughter, joyful spirit, and love of chocolate!
