Marilyn L. Walters Obituary (Age 88) Marilyn passed away in her sleep June 17, 2017. Marilyn Lois Walters was born March 13, 1929. Marilyn was the third of three children born to Edward and Pearl Brabant Odland in Ladysmith, WI. They moved to Portland, OR in 1935. She went to public school leading to graduation from Franklin High in 1946. She married James Franz in 1946; their union bore a daughter, Vivian, in 1947. After a divorce, they moved to Spokane where she worked for the Spokesman Review in the accounting department. She married Roger S. Walters on July 12, 1957 in Richland, WA. This union bore a son, Philip, on October 19, 1960. She was a wonderful mother and had a daycare for neighborhood children. After the children were in school, she worked in bookkeeping at the American Red Cross until 1987. She became a secretary at Becherini Scale Scale Co. until her retirement in 1995. She is survived by husband, Roger; daughters, Vivian and Shari; son, Philip; granddaughter, Crystal; and great grandson, Nicholas Vevang.
