January 23, 1937 - June 14, 2017

Marilyn Ruth Davis Obituary (Age 80) Marilyn passed away quietly on Wednesday, June 14 at Spokane Hospice House with her daughter, Tracy, at her side. She was born in Compton, CA on January 23, 1937 and lived in California until moving to Spokane in 1986. Her husband of 51 years, Floyd Davis, preceded her in death in December 2011. Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Tracy Schenk, son-in-law Tom Schenk, grandchildren Lisa Holbert, Justin Heron, Devon Brown, Michael Schenk, and eight great grandchildren. Marilyn was a gentle soul who always had a smile and warm greeting for all those who met her and knew her. She enjoyed gardening, her neighbors, and all the friends she made at the quilting groups she belonged to over the years. Quilting was Marilyns favorite hobby and passion. For years, she collected fabric from all over, cut and sorted endlessly and dreaming of new quilts to make. She comfortably lived out her last few years at her daughters home she called the farm in Valleyford. The grandchildren all loved spending time with grandma as she read to them, listened to their stories, and taught the girls how to sew. Marilyns greatest legacy to three generations of family, however, was the how she served as a model of unlimited kindness, patience, and love for all.
