Marilyn Taber Wiley Obituary (Age 84) Born February 26, 1925 at Spokane's Deaconess Hospital and passed away October 18, 2009. Marilyn attended Finch Grade School, Havermale Junior High and graduated from North Central High School in 1943. She spent two years at Washington State College in Pullman as a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. Marilyn attended the University of Washington for one year before deciding to get her degree in PHT (putting hubby through) at WSC, where husband Don graduated in 1949. They were married 63 years ago on December 22, 1946 during Christmas break. Marilyn was a member of P.E.O International, numerous bridge clubs and a monthly book club that helped to satisfy her love of reading. She was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great grandmother; a rare soul who always had a positive outlook and never a harsh thing to say about anyone. She is survived by husband Don Wiley, son David Wiley (partner Marc Schermerhorn); daughter Laurie Vandervert (husband John); grandsons Joey Vandervert and Josh Vandervert (wife Carol) and three great-grandchildren, Hunter, Jadan and Ashlyn Vandervert. The family wants to thank the staff at Evergreen Hematology and Oncology for their support and kindness during Marilyn's illness. Hospice of Spokane was nothing short of amazing, providing loving care both at home and at the calm and peaceful Hospice House. A celebration of Marilyn's life will be held at the Heritage Funeral Home at 3:00 PM on Thursday, October 29, 2009, 508 North Government Way. Remembrances may be made to P.E.O. International, Hospice of Spokane or the Spokane Shriners Hospital for Children.
