Marjorie L. "Marge" Barnes Obituary Our much loved Mom, mother-in-law, grandma and ?GG? peacefully entered into heaven on June 19, 2015. Marge Barnes was born on February 12, 1926 in David City, Nebraska. She spent her girlhood years in Pocatello, Idaho and graduated from the University of Idaho with a B.S. in Dietetics. While in college, she was a member of Phi Upsilon Omicron Honor Society and Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. She was married to Orville L. Barnes for 66 years, until his passing on August 24, 2014. They lived on the South Hill in Spokane since 1950. She was an active member of Plymouth Congregational Church and Martha Guild, C.P.A. Women?s Auxiliary, Chapter AI of P.E.O. for over 50 years, Spokane College Women, Spokane Symphony Associates, and Hamblen Park Garden Club. She was an alumna of Kappa Alpha Theta, a long time volunteer for St. Lukes and a Campfire Leader. She enjoyed playing bridge and mah jongg, and golfing with her husband. She was a wonderful homemaker, cook and hostess. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law Ron and Vicki Barnes, and daughter and son-in-law Sheri and Doug McEachran. By her grandchildren: Emily (Victor) Orellana and great granddaughters Hailey and Hannah of Spokane, Nick (Natalie) Barnes and great granddaughters Analisa and Paige of Spokane, Jamieson McEachran of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Annette McEachran and great grandson Louie Hedspeth. Brother Floyd (Ruth) Johnson of Pocatello, Idaho, and brother-in-law Charles (Veronika) Barnes of Deming, New Mexico, as well as several nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, July 1 at Heritage Funeral Home, 508 N. Government Way, Spokane, WA 99224.
