Mark R Bickley Obituary Mark R Bickley was born August 12, 1921 in Panguitch, Utah. He was the eldest of two sons born to Marcus and Mary Moselle Norton Bickley. When he was three years old, his family relocated to Salt Lake City, but he spent his summers in Panguitch where he developed a love for fishing and hunting. He attended public schools, graduating from Granite High School in 1939. He married his high school sweetheart, Margie Jackson in 1942 in Fresno, CA. He served as an Army Staff Sergeant in the India Burma Theatre during World War II, supervising the installation and maintenance of observation radio stations. He accepted employment with Burroughs Corp., a manufacturer of office accounting equipment and eventually large computers. Mark was transferred to Spokane where they raised their five children. His hobbies included gardening, woodworking, fly tying, genealogy and family history. Mark loved camping with family and friends. He was a devoted member of the Boy Scouts of America, eventually serving as the Inland Empire Council Commissioner. He received a Silver Beaver for his many years of service. A lifelong devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he held many leadership positions where he developed a great joy for serving others. A friend he served with described him as being courageous, loving, stalwart, giving, forgiving, a wonderful man. He will be missed by many. Mark passed away on February 15, 2018 at the age of 96. He was preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Margie Jackson Bickley and their oldest daughter, Patricia Ann Bickley. He is survived by daughters, Mary Ann and her husband Lon Gibby of Colbert, WA; Marsha and her husband Steve Holding of Spokane, WA; Valerie and her husband Terry Williams of Colville, WA and his son Richard and his wife Cari of Woods Cross, UT; as well as 17 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 24th, beginning with a viewing at 9:00 a.m. followed by the service at 10:00 a.m. at the LDS Sitka Chapel, 808 E.
