On March 19, 2009, Mary E. Lenoch entered in rest having spent the previous two and a half years as a resident of Guardian Angel Homes of Liberty Lake, WA. She was born on February 14, 1923, in Sanford, Maine, to Christian and Kristine Jensen. Mary was the youngest of five children. She attended O.A. Thorp Elementary and Steinmetz High School in Chicago, IL. On May 15, 1942 she married Richard W. Lenoch. They enjoyed canoeing and horseback riding together. When Richard entered the Navy Mary joined him in PA with their son, William. She was employed there while Richard was stationed at Mechanicsburg, PA. They later returned to Chicago where Mary was employed in the garment and electronics industries. In 1968 Mary and Richard moved to Kirkland, WA. She started caring for children at church on Sundays and then decided to become a state licensed care provider to have an in home daycare during the rest of the week. This she pursued until 1999 having blessed and been blessed by the children in her care. Richard and Mary were married for 62 years until he died in 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her four siblings, Nathaneal, Mabel, Edward, and Lillian. She is survived by her son, William, and his wife Jeanne of Foothills, WA; a niece, Susan, of Seminole, FL; a nephew, Robert, of West Melbourne, FL; and step grandchildren, Scott Heckel of Kenmore WA, Steve Heckel, Casa Grande AZ, and Cindy Habig, Lewis Center, OH and five grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Guardian Angel Homes on April 8, 2009. The family requests memorial donations be made to Hospice of Spokane, 121 S. Arthur, Spokane, WA 99210-2215. Hospice of Spokane is a non-profit organization that gave Mary comfort and happiness while preparing for her journey home.
