MaryAnn Hawkins Obituary
(Age 92)
MaryAnn Hawkins died peacefully at home in the company of family on Sunday, November 14th in Spokane, Washington. She was 92 years old. MaryAnn was born in Honey Grove, Texas on February 9, 1918 to Franklin Pierce Wood, Sr. and Bobbi Fielding Wood. MaryAnn graduated from the University of Texas and was a proud member of Kappa Kappa Gama Sorority. In 1950, she married Dallas Euel Hawkins II in Dallas, Texas. They soon moved to Calgary, Alberta where her husband took a position as an Executive in the Oil Industry. She and her Dallas later maintained residences in Maui, Hawaii and in Spokane, Washington. MaryAnn has spent her last ten years exclusively in Spokane after the death of her husband Dallas in 2000. MaryAnn remained a true and loyal Texan all of her life and enjoyed traveling extensively with her husband, cooking and entertaining her many friends and family. She loved a good laugh, a martini and as she would say, "I've had a full life and I have no regrets"!
She is survived by many loving family members in Texas; her daughter Kathy (Roger) Penner in Calgary; her sons Dallas (Kathie) in Spokane and Robert (Sally Jo) Hawkins in Arizona; her grandchildren Christopher and Shannon Iskiw, Devyn (Shane) Johnson, Amanda (Juan) Gonzales, Sara Hawkins, Crystal (Nick) Maxey, Kimberly Hawkins, Catherine Hawkins; step grandson Kameron Smith, and great-grand children Kate, Jack, Liam, Devon and Riley. A Memorial Service will be held at The Cathedral of Saint John the Evangelist, All Saints Chapel, 127 East 12th Avenue, Spokane, Washington on Saturday, November 27th at 4 PM. Members of the family would like to thank Horizon Hospice of Spokane for the compassionate care they provided. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Horizon Hospice or the Spokane Humane Society.
