April 28, 1927 - January 20, 2012

MaryLou E. (Lempesis) Schaaf Obituary MaryLou was born in Metaline Falls, WA and was raised in her young years there where her father worked for Lehigh Cement. She moved to Spokane with her family in her early teens and graduated from Lewis & Clark High School. She met and married our father and became a homemaker, raising six children. She lived the majority of her adult life in the Spokane Valley. She attended Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church and was an amazing woman of faith. Her quick bout with cancer and her quick passing has left a large hole in our lives. Mom touched many people in her long lifetime. She was a mother to so many people, not just her six children. There was never a dull moment with a family this large and the love and compassion she taught us. MaryLou is survived by her brother David (Anita) Lempesis; and her six children: Timothy (Francis) Schaaf, Barbara (Ted) Potts, Kimberley Bryan, Bradley (Jeannie) Schaaf, Melissa Schaaf, Janna (Scott) O'Leary; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. MaryLou was an amazing artist and had many hobbies in her life including sewing, crocheting, knitting and quilting. She loved scrap booking and any gathering that encompassed her family and friends. She loved to travel and spend as much time with her children as she could. Her love for life was very contagious. There is no doubt that she is in Heaven dancing with the angels and watching over all of her children here on earth. Here's to "confetti on your coffin mom". We love you - forever and always!! A memorial service will be held later in the spring for family and close friends - information will be available upon request. Any donations made in MaryLou Schaaf's name can be made to: Hospice House PO Box 2215, Spokane, WA 99220-2215 or www.hospiceofspokane.org
