Matthew Curtis Bailey

September 16, 1991 - March 12, 2016

Matthew Curtis Bailey Obituary (Age 24) Passed away Saturday, March 12, 2016 in a tragic motorcycle accident. He was born on September 16, 1991 in Spokane WA to Donald and Katherine Bailey. He came into this world 5 weeks early and from the start was out to prove he could take on the world. The name Matthew means "a gift from God" and his parents used to say, "even though we didn't plan you God did, and that means you are meant for something special." Matt had a hard start at life and was in and out of the hospital as a small child. Growing up there was never a dull moment, like when he was 9 and he and his best friend Ryan were being monkeys swinging from the garage rafters and he fell and severely broke his arm. He was honest to a fault, and often got his siblings in trouble because he just couldn't lie about what ever mischief they had gotten into. Matthew started working for his father's construction company as a teenager and you never met a more dedicated hard working man. He would often take on jobs that would have challenged much larger men, but he always found a way to complete his task. He traveled the South Western US working with his father and brother from 17 until he was 22, when the family business returned to Spokane. His very beloved mini wiener dog Molly was always with him when he travelled. In 2015 he started working for a local construction company and was so excited about getting a promotion to equipment operator, he was two days away from starting his new job. Matthew loved motorcycles especially Harley Davidson, his Harley was his most prized possession. Matthew could always make you smile, no matter how mad he made you he could make you smile. He enjoyed making everyone else laugh often at his own expense. He is survived by his parents Don and Kathy Bailey; brothers Jason McCorkle and Nicholas Bailey; sister Amber Casale; grandmother Mary Bailey; multiple aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as his beloved Molly dog. He will be very deeply missed, but we know he is in Heaven. God's precious gift that was Matthew Bailey has gone home to be with the Lord. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 11am at Spokane Christian Center, 8909 E. Bigelow Gulch Road Spokane.
