July 15, 1932 – March 28, 2025

Maurita "Rita" Jean Hollow was born in Kootenai, Idaho, on July 15, 1932. She passed away peacefully and was called to Heaven at the age of 92. Rita resided at Sullivan Park Assisted Living in Spokane Valley, Washington, alongside her loving husband of 70 years, Edwin "Ed" Hollow.

Rita cherished the simple joys of life and found the greatest happiness in spending time with her family. Her warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed and will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

Rita was preceded in death by her father, John Running; mother, Doris Kyseth; sister, Mary Snyder; and beloved son, John Hollow.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Ed, and daughters Sherry (Ted) Urban, Deanna (Steve) Brisbois, and Julie (Tim) Shatto. Rita also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy and were blessed to know her love.

Per her wishes, no public funeral service will be held. A private graveside service will take place at a later date at Arlington West in Greenwood Memorial Terrace. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Zion Lutheran Church of Spokane in Rita’s memory.
