Melanie Elaine Rhodes Obituary Melanie was unexpectedly taken from this earth on May 26, 2016. She was 57 years young. She passed away at her home in north Spokane. Melanie was born in San Antonio, TX on May 28, 1958 to Wesley B. Tate and Emma May Lesnett. She was the youngest of four children. She lived several places throughout her childhood because of her father�s Army Aircorp career. Melanie graduated high school from West Valley in 1976. She spent most of her adult life in Spokane, but as of 2008 she resided in Phoenix, AZ during the winter months with her loving husband Ross Rhodes. She enjoyed watching her husband play softball, never missing a game and loved playing golf with her friends, frequently boasting about her two holes in one. Melanie and Ross were married on June 12, 2008. They were each other�s best friend and partner for the last 16 years and loved spending time with family and friends. loved spending time with family and friends. She was a beautiful woman with a kind heart who loved being a wife, a mother and a grandmother. Melanie is survived by her husband, Ross Rhodes; her children Katharine (Jonah) Payne and Brian Wilmoth; her step children Kristin (Jarryd) Pretorious, Sarah Rhodes-McNaghten, Jillian Williams, Dustin Rhodes and Tawny Youngman; her siblings Jerry (Rita) Tate, Clifford (Joanne) Tate, and Lisa VanDyke; her grandchildren Madison Payne, Payton and Dustin Pretorious, Samantha McNaghten, Seth Bos, Hunter Williams, Chase and Shalyn Anderson, and great-granddaughter Trinity.
