Melvin LeRoy Stevens Obituary (Age 84) Mel passed, or as he would say �graduated� on October 31, 2015 in Spokane, WA after complications related to cancer surgery. Mel was born in Ipswich, South Dakota on February 26, 1931 to Ted and Esther Stevens. He was a proud lifetime member of several organizations including the Masons, Shriners and the NRA. He served his country in the Air Force, National Guard and the Naval Reserves where he was honorably discharged. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service and then retired as a cement contractor. He enjoyed watching sports and Fox News on TV and taking care of three fish aquariums including his �baby� Mr. Eel. He is preceded in death by his wife DeLores Stevens, sister Joyce Johnson, and son Michael Stevens. Mel is survived by daughters and son in law Susan and Ted Kepler and Crystal Stevens, grandchildren; Christopher Stevens, Michelle Reynolds, Lisa Nail, Lindsay Stevens, Jason Varner, Julie Barnett, Molly Stevens and 11 great grandchildren.
