Michael Scott Hegenderfer Obituary (Age 48) Michael completed his life with perseverance on June 15, 2014. Michael was born in Seattle, WA on December 14, 1965 to Larry and Karen Hegenderfer. The family moved and established roots in the Spokane Valley when Michael was entering the second grade. Michael graduated from Central Valley High School in 1984 and then went on to attend Evergreen State College and Eastern Washington University. In 1986, Michael was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor. Although surgery was a success, his life was a battlefield of ailments. He put up a valiant fight with each one. Through all of his hardships, Michael loved his family and friends to the fullest. He was known for his joyful smile, and his humorous anecdotes, but most of all his fierce devotion to the people he loved. His nieces, his nephew, and his adopted Heden children knew him as the MandM provider. The Heden family lovingly dubbed him "MandM Mike." Michael loved to talk politics and became a supporter and volunteer for the Democratic National Committee. He was also an avid supporter of many wildlife associations. Michael is preceded in death by his father Larry Hegenderfer. He is survived by his mother; Karen Hegenderfer, his sister; Carol Hegenderfer, his brother; Steven (Molly) Hegenderfer, and his nieces; Devon and Sydnee Preedy and Hope and Lucy Hegenderfer, and a nephew; Logan Preedy. There will be a life celebration for Michael on Saturday, June 28 at 4:00pm at the Mission Meadows Clubhouse located at 19312 E. Nora Lane. Contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. "No one is more cherished in this world than someone who lightens the burden of another."-unknown.
