Mildred Louise "Midge" (Dougherty) Gutterud Obituary (Age 96) Passed from this life on January 30, 2016. Mildred was born on the family farm in Grantsdale, Montana on September 9, 1919 to Ralph and Pearl (Rowe) Dougherty. She attended elementary school in Grantsdale and at various times in Helena where her father served as a State Legislator. Her employment over several years in Spokane was as Executive Secretary and retired from Cominco American as an Administrative Assistant. She then taught Secretarial Science subjects at Spokane Community College night school. A member of Zion Lutheran Church included volunteering on various committees. Mildred married James Hunter Chandler in 1939 who preceded her in death and in 1972 she married Lloyd R. Gutterud who passed away in 2010. She is survived by her step-son James Hunter (Laura) Chandler; grandsons James Kenneth Chandler and Anthony Zorich; granddaughters Julie (Robert) Diaz and Cynthia (Jared) Vandegrift, in Spokane by granddaughter Cheryl (Bryan) Everard; best friend Patricia Harkness; 8 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren as well as a nephew and nieces. A graveside memorial service will be held in the springtime.
