Mildred M. Thompson Obituary (Age 95) Passed away July 5, 2012 at home in Spokane. She was born October 20, 1916 to Samuel and Emma Ellis, Reardan, WA and attended school in Reardan. She was the youngest of nine siblings. She loved her home and it was there that she cared for several of her older siblings. She enjoyed boating, fishing and bird watching. In the 1950's she and her husband had a fishing and scenic cruise business on Lake Pend O Reille known as The Out West Company. Mildred was an avid animal lover, especially fond of dogs, horses and wolves, other interests were attending horse races and growing roses. Mildred was preceded in death by all siblings and her husband. After the death of her husband in 1959 she worked in food services at the Veterans Hospital in Spokane, retiring after 23 years. She is survived by two nephews, three nieces, Vernon (Pam) Ellis of Athol, ID, Bob (Dena) Ellis of C'da, ID, Ms Ken (Betty) Ellis of Spokane, great nephews and nieces are: Marc P and Pam Ellis, Steven J. and Gina Ellis, Kerry Ellis, Jennie and Chad Swartz, Tarah N. Alberg and a devoted caregiver and friend Connie Thoorsell. Visitation will be at Heritage Tuesday July 10th Noon-5PM and a Private Interment will be held at Fort George Wright Military Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the Spokane Humane Society, 6607 N. Havana St., Spokane 99217.
