Milton T. (Milt) Burger Obituary (Age 79) Passed away Augutst 16, 2011. He was born Dec. 16, 1931 to Alois and Josefa (Hanzlikova) Burger in Jefferson, NY and graduated from Jefferson H.S. in 1950, one of 12 graduates. He entered the Air Force June 29, 1951 and served in the Korean Conflict until 1955. Milt married Nancy Joyce Van der Gaag on March 10, 1954 of Spokane. He went to work for Pacific NW Bell and worked for them for 35 years, retiring in 1990 as a plant engineer in Tacoma, WA. They had two children during this time. Retirement meant traveling the US with wife Nancy. He was a 25 year member of the Telephone Pioneers and a member of the Elks Lodge #174 of Tacoma. Milt is survived by his wife Nancy; daughter Connie (Ron) McGehee of Edmonds, WA; son John Burger of Spokane; grandson Cameron of Tacoma; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Louis, George and John. Memorial Service 1:30PM (staging at 1:15) Friday August 26th at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery, 21702 W. Espanola Rd. Medical Lake, WA. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army of Spokane or the American Cancer Society.
