Monte Gruber Obituary Monte Gruber went home to the Lord on Friday, January 6, 2012 in Spokane, WA. Monte is preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Brewer Gardner, of Federal Way, WA and his father, James Gruber, of Spokane, WA. Monte was born in Spokane on February 7, 1950. As a child he lived at Lakeland Village and Interlake. He transitioned to a Group Home as a young adult. Over the years, he lived in three Group Homes where he was well-loved and cared for. Monte worked for many years as a custodian at Fairchild Air Force Base. Monte loved bowling, dancing, Peoples Place, his family and friends, country music (especially Charley Pride!) cherry pie and coffee. He had a wonderful sense of humor, loved to tease, and loved babies and small children. Monte enriched the lives of all he came in contact with. He will be missed by his large, extended family and his friends. A public graveside service will be held on Friday, January 13 at 2:00 p.m.
