Muriel Irene (Voss) Peterson Obituary (Age 92) Entered into rest on February 12, 2013 in Spokane, WA. Muriel was born on July 31, 1920 in Coburg, Ontario, Canada to Roland Buchanan and Myrtle Foster. She graduated from South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard WA and married Ralph Peterson on June 23, 1962. They spent nearly 40 years together in the Spokane area. Muriel was a past president and lifetime member with Ralph of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 1474. She was also a past District 9 president. Muriel is survived by her son, Richard (Nancy) Nelson; daughter, Patricia Miller; step-daughter, Merri (Isaac) Sutton; brother, Edward Buchanan; sister, Juanita Davis; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Ralph Peterson; her parents, Roland and Myrtle Buchanan; brothers, Robert Buchanan and William Buchanan; and her sister Dorothy Gilfer.
