Nancy Joann Krakenberg-Flanary Obituary Nancy Joann Krakenberg-Flanary transitioned from this world December 26th at 67 years old from breast cancer and lymphoma. Nancy is survived by her son Zaq Flanary (Monique), her two grandchildren Britny and Antonio, her sister Kathy McCollough (Theron), Step-Mother Nina Krakenberg, half-brother Tom Neils and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Ms. Flanary wore many hats in life. She loved to dance, sing, swim and travel. She taught several forms of dance in her youth. As a lifelong student, she attended many schools including Eastern Washington State College. She received her Phd in 2009. Nancy was a successful entrepreneur who chased her passions. She owned Thunder Mountain Dog Supplies, a large retail/wholesale pet business for 25+ years and was elected president of the Executive Woman's Network in 1995-96. Nancy trained dogs for her entire adult life and bred and raised Labrador Retrievers. Ms. Flanary was a teacher, a nanny, a chaplain, a caregiver and even an inventor. Some of her inventions include a seat-belt system for dogs and microwavable hair curlers. Nancy was always there to lend a hand to her extensive family and friends. She loved working with children and had ambitions to start a children's home. Nancy was also a widely loved figure in our local art community, supported local music and attended hundreds of shows. She loved all and is loved by many! The family would like to thank the wonderful people at the Multicare Valley Hospital, Good Samaritan Society, Hospice House, and Heritage Funeral Home for their incredible work and compassion during this time. Nancy's celebration of life will be held Sunday, January 21st at the Black Diamond in the Spokane Valley at 2pm. Her ashes will be placed at Greenwood Memorial Terrace on Monday, January 22nd at 12:30. Both events are open to the public.
