Norman E. Nelson Obituary (Age 89) Norman E. Nelson passed away on June 11, 2017 in Spokane, WA. He was born August 2, 1927 in Cloquet, MN to Katherine and Norman Sr. After two years of college, he served in the Navy as an electrician in 1944. He spent most of his life residing in Minnesota and Washington and was married twice. Norm was employed by the Cloquet, MN Pineknot Newspaper, Weyerhaeuser Company and was a Baskin-Robbins franchise owner. His hobbies included hunting for deer, elk and duck; fishing; camping; being a history buff; telling stories and writing articles for outdoor magazines like Field & Stream. He also wrote two books. Norm was a Protestant and was also a member of the NRA and various writer's associations. Norm is survived by his beloved Esie; his children: Godson Brian; sons Paul, Dan and Peter; daughters Carla and Noelle and all of their spouses; grandchildren and great-grandchildren -- all of Washington state. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 18th at 2:30pm at Heritage Funeral Home.
