Norm was called home June 11th, 2010 at North Central Care Center due to Alzheimers and pneumonia. Norman was born December 9, 1920 in Baraboo, WI and lived there until the age of 15. He moved to Libby, MT and graduated from Libby High School in 1938. Norm worked at Safeway in Libby and joined the Navy in 1942. His brother Paul joined the Army. Norm became a Pharmacists Mate, 2nd Class and served over seas in the Guam and Guadacanal in action against the Japanese. Norm received an honorable discharge in 1945 and returned home to Libby becoming a diesel mechanic later working in Spokane for International Harvester and Cummins Diesel and was considered one of the best diesel mechanics in the region often called out of town to fix rigs. Norm enjoyed a number of hobbies after retirng. He had a shop, did some woodworking, loved to fish, garden, oil paint, and play cards. He was a member of North Hill Christian Church and later member of Westgate Christian Church making many good friends. Norm was a good hearted hard working man and I remember him saying to always look for the good in everyone. Norm is preceeded in death by his parents Stuart and Geraldine Risley, brother Paul, sister Clarice and former spouse Janett. Survived by spouse Elizabeth, two children Ann Allison, Paul Risley (Barb) four grandchildren Jeff, Jodi, Kevin, Matt, three great-granddaughters Shelby, Lily, and Diana. Norm also has two half sisters Carol Van Zyverden, Katie Plaas, half brother Steve Risley, Nephew Brian Corbett, step sons Jim and Bill Pitt and children and grandchildren. Norm will always be loved and missed. We want to thank everyone at North Central Care Center for their special care given to Norman. A Memorial Service will be held 10:00AM Friday, June 18th, 2010 at Heritage Funeral Home.
