June 21, 1934 - March 23, 2013

Norman "Norm" Crampton Obituary (Age 78) Norman of Poulsbo, WA left us suddenly on March 23, 2013 after a short battle with cancer. He was born June 21, 1934 in Opportunity, WA to Lawrence and Nellie Crampton. Norman graduated from Steptoe High School in 1952; he was always proud to say he was one of nine in his graduating class! Norman was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who had a generous heart and all who knew him loved him. Norman served in the Air Force for six years including a tour during the Korean War. Upon leaving the Air Force he worked as a carpenter until he was hired by the Washington State Department of Transportation. He retired as a Superintendent after 27 years in 1992. But retirement did not stop him, he continued working for FlightCraft, then Alloy Trailers and finally at Siemers farm (many will remember him as the pumpkin patch tractor driver). He took many memorable trips with his wife Marguerite (Peggy) which included spending a couple of months each summer on Elizabeth Island in Alaska. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 40 years, Marie and is survived by his two sons Bill (Patty) of Cody, WY, Les of Black Diamond, WA; two daughters, Catherine (Mark) Fielding of Spokane, WA, Lisa (Matthew) Dawdy of Spokane, WA; five grandchildren Alicia (Mike), Kerry, David, Ryan and Hunter and one great-grandchild Alexis. He is survived by his wife of 9 years, Marguerite (Peggy) Strandskov of Poulsbo, WA; Peggy?s son Lynn of Chimicum, WA, and daughter Beverly (Paul) Spurlock of Euharlee, GA; grandchildren Jed, Susannah, Sarah. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, June 8th at the Fielding family home.
