Odis Lee Denmon Jr., Devoted husband, strong father, loving grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many, departed this earthly life on November 14, 2025.
Odis was born September 30th,1939 in Elgin Texas to Odis Lee Denmon, Sr. and Murray Swearing.Â
He moved to Spokane in 1952 looking for a better life and work. There he met and married Josephine Durden in 1972.
Odis provided for his family and worked for Safeway for 33 years until retiring in 2000.
Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church was his church home for over fifty years. He served on the Trustee and Deacon Boards as well as the Finance Committee.
Over the years Odis developed several hobbies that included painting, fishing, and gardening. When he wasn’t watching sports or westerns, he enjoyed barbecuing with family and friends.
His wisdom, generous heart, and strong sense of family will be greatly missed. In the wake of his loss, he leaves to mourn his wife Josephine Denmon; son Anthony (Misty) Denmon and daughter Angela Denmon; grandchildren Darius Denmon and Danielle Denmon; great-grandchildren Khaila, Cheyenne, Jeremiah, Tayvon, Courtney, Caiden, and Kaleah. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents Odis Lee Demnon Sr. and Murray Swearing; step-mother Thelma Denmon; and sisters Joy Dell and Callie Mae.
A funeral service will be held at Morning Star Baptist Church Friday November 28th, 2025 at 12:00pm 3909 W Rowan Ave, Spokane, WA 99205 followed by a graveside service at Fairmount Memorial Park 5200 W Wellesley Ave, Spokane, WA 99205.  Â
