January 05, 1928 - October 14, 2013

Patricia Jean Collier Obituary (Age 85) Inseparable in life, together again for eternity, our beloved mother, grandmother and friend returned to Lawrence's side on October 14, 2013. Her broken heard had never quite healed; her wounded spirit never seemed whole again after he left us in 2007. And, though we must now struggle to find our way through life without her, we do find some comfort in the thought that she and Lawrence are reunited again in the great adventure that lies beyond. Mom passed away on October 14, 2013 at Valley General Hospital in Spokane Valley, WA. She suffered a massive stroke on October 12, 2013 and held on a few days so we could say good-bye. A family service was held on October 18, 2013 at Heritage Funeral Home. She was born on January 5, 1928 in Alameda, CA to Edward & Rose Hafer. Growing up between California and Washington States, she graduated in 1946 from Columbia High School in Richland, WA. After high school she met and married Ernest Hodges. They had four children together and settled in Livermore, CA. In 1963 she followed her heart and married Lawrence Collier. They moved to Spokane to be close to Pat's mother and added one more child to the family. And, it is in Spokane that they raised their family and remained for the rest of their lives. During the early years Lawrence worked as a truck mechanic and Pat as a salesclerk for the Crescent Department Store. After retirement they traveled for several years seeing the sites, gathering memories and forming life long friendships. After quite a few years on the road, Pat longed for the stability of a stationary wall to hang a picture from again and the traded in their wheels for a new home and settled into the more sedentary years of retirement, and we were happy to have them close again. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, her infant sister Celina, her brother Dale and her husband Lawrence Collier. She is survived by her children Dale Hodges (Gerda McAuliffe), Linda Bishop (Alex "Bub"), Vincent Hodges, Jeffrey Hodges (Nancy), and Kelli Featherstone (Jim). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and her dear friends Jim and Shirley Bennett. Rest in Peace Mom...We will love you forever and miss you until we see you on the other side. We promise to respect and appreciate all elephants and will always think of you when we see one. Give Lawrence our love. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Patricia, please visit our Tree Store. Read more Events OCT 14
