Paul Michael Ryden Obituary Paul Michael Ryden passed away at his home in Spokane on July 8th. Paul was born in JunJoo City, South Korea, on October 11, 1984. Paul, and his sister Karen, were adopted by his parents, Gary and Janet Ryden. Paul, the son of a military family, lived at several locations in America to include Riverside, California, Sacramento, California, Dayton, Ohio, and Spokane, Washington, Paul graduated from Ferris High School in Spokane in 2003. He attended college at the University of Oregon and Spokane Falls Community College from 2004 to 2008. In 2009 he entered his Junior year at the University of Washington majoring in history and Asian Studies with graduation in the fall quarter of 2011. Paul was passionate about music. He read a wide assortment of literature including the classics, science fiction, and philosophy. He excelled in history and Asian Studies, mainly Chinese and Korean. He took a strong interest in reading, writing, and speaking in these subject areas. Paul was fond of cooking and liked to try new recipes. He found great comfort in being with his family and was deeply loved. He will be missed by his family. Paul is survived by his parents, his grandfather, Art Ryden of Cherokee, Iowa, his sister Karen Provance and husband Ryan and niece Audrey, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins including Reverend Mark Nelson, Donna Nelson, Caroline and John Shelton, Roger and Jolene Niemeyer, Russ and JoAnn Wilson, Linda and John Erickson, and 8 cousins. A memorial service will be held at St. Marks Lutheran Church, 316 E. 24th Avenue, Spokane, Washington on August 2nd at 1:00 p.m. The family has asked that memorial contributions in Paul?s name be sent to Lutheran Community Services of the Inland Northwest, 210 W. Sprague Ave., Spokane, Washington, 99201.
