Peter Zimmerman Obituary Passed away June 3, 2009. He was born May 1, 1910 in Bison, SD. He married his loving wife of 71 years Christine in 1937. Peter worked for 38 years for Western Fruit Express. He is survived by his wife; son Lester Lee (Valene) Zimmerman of Liberty Lake; brother Bennie of Anaconda, MT; sister Ester Underland of Roy, WA; grandchildren Renee (Jim) Hix and Phillip (Julie) Zimmerman; 3 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 9 brothers Jacob, George, Manuel, John, Wilhelm, Martin, Albert, Edwin, Bennie and 5 sisters Rose, Lydia, Louies, Elizabeth, Mary. He was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church, a member of NARVRE Railroad Assoc., and for many years was a board member of Spokane Railroad Credit Union (Numerica). He enjoyed wood working, carpentry and other handyman projects and was an accomplished accordion player and participated in the International Accordion Championships. Visitation will be Monday June 8, 2009 10-5 at the funeral home and Funeral Services 1:30PM Tuesday June 9 at Trinity Baptist Church, 6528 N. Monroe St. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Baptist Church or a charity of choice.
