Philip D. Evans Obituary Philip D. Evans, 87, passed away at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane on January 17, 2016. Phil was born in Monterey, California February 6, 1928 and spent many years in Moses Lake, Washington before making Spokane his home. Phil was a proud Member of the United States Navy and a Veteran of both World War II where he served with COMSUBPAC F.A., Pearl Harbor and the Korean War where he served with The Military Sea Transportation Service Northern Pacific Division. He was honorably discharged in 1952 as a Yeoman 3rd Class with a Meritorious Service Award � Ground observer Corps and Victory Medal World War II. Phil travelled to Washington, DC in 2013 as a guest of the Honor Flight Network, a Charity enabling members of the �Greatest Generation� to visit Memorials in that city erected in their honor. Phil was employed as a Meat Cutter for 65 Years and owned several independent businesses along the way. He was actively involved with the Lilac Senior Bowling League and with the local PT Cruiser�s Club. Phil was preceded in death by his wife Georgia B. (Ackley) and two sons Thomas (Tom) and Timothy (Tim) and his granddaughter Dana. Phil leaves behind his son Greg and his wife Debby of Vancouver, WA; four grandsons: Jeff of Portland, OR, Brad and his wife Aimee of Vancouver WA, Thomas of Seattle, WA and Philip of Kettle Falls, WA, and four great-grandchildren: Esme, Logan, Jaxson and Riley. Phil also leaves behind his housemate and devoted companion of 15 Years Helen Felice of Spokane. Phil was well known for always having a story to tell and will be missed by friends and family. The family wishes to thank Mr. Morton�s medical team at Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center in Spokane: Dr. David Sams, Denise Raymond, Gramm McGregor, Mark Fickert, Ken Schuller and the rest of the staff for all of the stellar care they have given him over many years. Visitation will be at Heritage Funeral Home on Friday, January 22, 2016 from 10:00AM � 5:00PM. A Funeral Service will be held for Philip at Heritage on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 1:00PM.
