Phyllis June Francis

Phyllis June Francis Obituary Phyllis June Francis Johnson, 94, a lifetime enthusiastic Spokane resident died Saturday, January 13th. On November 12, 1944, she married her North Central High School sweetheart, Robert Loring Francis owner and president of the Silver Loaf Holsum Baking Company of Spokane. Bob Francis passed away at 69 years old in 1993. Phyllis was a loving, playful, active, supportive wife, mother, and grandmother. She was active in the community, a pianist at church, beautiful swimmer, avid water skier and boater, a bridge player, and trophy-winning golfer including serving as Womens President at Manito Golf and Country Club. Phyllis was devoted to her family and never wanted to miss anything; she stayed with the family as long as possible after celebrating her 90th birthday party in her home near 42nd and S. Magnolia. Phyllis is survived by her sister, Carol Jean Craft. Phyllis and Robert Francis are survived by two daughters, Bonnie J. F. Meyer-Zello of State College, PA and Susan C. Francis of Post Falls, ID. Phyllis and Bob Francis also are survived by four grandchildren: Jennifer June Ireland, Christina Francis Meyer, Robert Francis S. Meyer, and Lela C. Triebwasser, as well as five young great-grandchildren: Landon, Cece, Ailish, Simon, and Lincoln. Phyllis is also survived by four nephews and nieces--Dave Wold, Jody Flath, Lynn Engman, and Rick Craft. In 1995 Phyllis Francis married the familys friend, Ewing Maine Johnson; Ewing was a beloved stepfather and grandfather and died in 2008.
