Quincy Emery

Quincy Emery Obituary (Age 92) Quincy was born on August 18, 1919 in Marlin, WA to Glenn and Jennie Emery. He passed away on July 14, 2012 in Spokane, WA. Quincy spent his school days in Palouse, graduating in 1937. He worked for Alcoa at Trentwood Rolling Mill as a foreman during WWII. He moved the family back to Palouse after the war ended in 1945. In the fall of 1950 Quincy moved to Chattaroy, WA to try his hand at farming. In early 1955 he moved to Mead to work in the construction trade. He spent the remainder of his career at Eastern State Hospital, where he retired in 1974. Quincy had an extreme passion for fishing. He was a member of Queen Avenue Free Methodist Church, where he taught adult Sunday school. Upon the closing of that church, he joined the Crestline Street Church of the Nazarene. Quincy is survived by his son Steven L. Emery; grandchildren: Steven L. Emery Jr. (Janet), Maureen R. Johnson (Robert), Howard C. Emery (Leanne), Sean P. Emery (Rebecca), as well as 10 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary in March of 2006; brothers: Frankie, Lorin, and Marvin (Barney), sister Edna and his parents Glenn and Jennie. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane, P.O. Box 2215, Spokane, WA 99210 A Memorial Service will be held on July 28, 2012 at the Crestline Church of the Nazarene, 4520 N. Crestline.
