Ralph Gene Montroy Obituary Ralph, 80, passed away May 22 at Providence Holy Family Hospital. Ralph was born in Spokane, November 21, 1930. After graduating from North Central High School he served for two years as a high-speed radio operator in the U.S. Army Signal Corps. He then went on to earn a degree in art education from Eastern Washington University. He taught art education in the Spokane School District for 30 years, first at Havermale Junior High School and then at his alma mater, North Central High School. While at North Central, he served as the head of the art department and coached the boys and girls golf teams. He continued coaching the golf teams for several years after his retirement from teaching in 1987. He is survived by his sister, Jeanine Kiehn, husband Irving, of Spokane, daughter Jolie Montroy, son Jeff Montroy, son Mark Montroy, grandchildren Annaliese and Bradley, and great-granddaughter Tiayanna. A short memorial service will be held at 10:00 am June 4 at Heritage Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer?s Association.
