Ramona Thelma Kelly Obituary (Age 88) Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister peacefully passed away April 1, 2016. She was a blessing to all who knew her. Born May 9, 1927, in Parma, ID to Robert and Blanche Pierce, she was raised in Milton-Freewater, OR and graduated from McLoughlin Union High School. She attended Whitworth College and Deaconess Nursing School and served 27 years as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Holy Family Hospital. She married Oscar Kelly on November 6, 1947 in Spokane beginning a 68 year journey. The couple lived in Metaline Falls, WA for 18 months before settling in northwest Spokane for the next 67 years where they raised four children. Ramona is survived by her husband Oscar; her children Eric (Kathleen) Kelly of Spokane, the parents of grandchildren Ian (Leigh) Kelly of Dallas, TX and Lindsey Kelly of Kent, WA, Colleen Wheeler of Seattle, WA, Kurt Kelly of Port Orchard, WA and Sean Kelly of Spokane, WA; her siblings Bob (Donna) Pierce of Milton-Freewater, OR, Larry (Barbara) Pierce of Touchet, WA, Muriel (Guy) Jonas of Orting, WA and Janice Pierce of Cincinnati, OH. Her parents and brother Ronald (Shirley) Pierce of Trumble Creek, MT preceded Ramona in death. Ramona was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and a faithful member of St. Charles Catholic Church since 1962 and St. Francis of Assisi before that. Holy Family nursing groups were a special joy to her. She will be missed but we rejoice in knowing she is at peace and comfortable following long illnesses in recent years. Special thanks to the people at Holy Family Hospital, ManorCare Health Services, St. Lukes Rehabilitation Institute, Genitiva Home Health and The Academy who gave such wonderful care to Ramona. Her youngest child Sean was a special gift to Ramona. She guided him through a 30 year career with Skilskin. Donations may be mailed to Skilskin, a non-profit provider of employment services for disabled adults at 4004 E.
