Raymond A. Pearson

December 24, 1923 - August 09, 2017

Raymond A. Pearson Obituary A loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother went to join his loved ones who are waiting with open arms to greet him in heaven. Ray was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Marian Pearson. Ray was born and raised on a farm near Worley, ID. He grew up working the farm with his dad, eventually driving a team of horses in the fields, and sawing cords of wood for winter, a lot of hard work for survival at that time. He rode a horse to a school in Worley many times in cold weather with sandwiches frozen from the cold. Ray graduated in 1942. He had many fond memories of the farm days rounding up the cows at CDA Lake and taking a dip, playing with his favorite dog Shep, watching the moon come up and seeing its reflections on the lake. Ray is survived by two sons Ronald (Debbie) Pearson, Roger (Dorie) Pearson, a daughter Pamela (John) Mulligan, two grandsons Lee (Fatima) Pearson, Ryan (Carrie) Pearson, one great-grandson Landon Pearson, and a 100-year-old sister Mabel Kaiser. Ray was a member of Trinity Baptist Church since 1953, serving in many duties such as usher and in the choir. He was also active in work with the Gideon society. Ray worked at the Spokane Flour Mill sewing sacks of flour, also Ralston feeds and the Grange. He then went to work for Hollenback Piano Company in the sales force. He did so well that Mr. Hollenback then sold him the company which he ran for many years. Ray enjoyed traveling with his wife. They visited relatives in Sweden where his parents grew up, as well as other countries in Europe. They especially enjoyed Hawaii. He was a member of the Holiday Ramblers travel club and went many places in their trailer with many dear friends and met many more. Ray leaves the world a better place for having been here. He touched many people and friends with his kind heart, honesty, and true love of the Lord. He entertained many people and staff at Touchmark with his harmonica, playing the songs he loved and some from listening to his father play as a child. In lieu of flowers, please send any donations to Hospice of Spokane. They provided wonderful care for Ray in his final days. A Funeral Service will be held in the Heritage Chapel on Monday, August 14, 2017 at 12:30pm with reception to follow. A Graveside Service will take place at 2:30pm at Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W.
