Raymond Kenneth Kreager Obituary (Age 93) Raymond K. Kreager passed away at Hospice House South on Saturday, April 29, 2017 surrounded by his daughter, Karen, brother, Dale, and niece, Diane Ward. Ray was born in Spokane, WA on September 26, 1923 to parents Versal and Ethel Kreager. Ray was one of seven children. He grew up on the West Plains of Spokane. As a youngster he and his best friend, Art Franke, rode their horses all over the Plains, Indian Canyon, down river and explored all the caves among the lava rocks while being accompanied by his faithful collie Tarzie. Ray attended the Rim Rock one room school house before going on to North Central High School. After graduation, Ray entered the United States Army Air Corp. He became an Air Flight engineer and flew with General Rudolph. After his service ended with WWII, he entered the Spokane Fire Dept. he was stationed with Fire House number 3 on Monroe Street. From there Ray went on to form his own construction business known as Kreager Construction. He put in many town water systems throughout Idaho, Montana, Washington and California. Ray was married to his wife, Betty, for nearly 73 years. Betty preceded him in death in June of 2015. All of Rays siblings as well as his parents, with the exception of his brother Dale preceded Ray in death. Dale will now take Rays place as the family patriarch. A funeral service will be held at Heritage Funeral Chapel on Thursday, May 4th at 10:30am with a graveside service at Greenwood Memorial Park immediately following.
