Reverend Doctor Gail Freemont Davis Obituary Gail F. Davis, born October 16, 1932, passed away on October 22, 2015, at his home in Spokane. Gail was born in Mission, South Dakota, to Katharine and Virgil Davis. His family moved from South Dakota to the Spokane area in 1941. Gail graduated from Otis Orchards High School in 1951 and followed his high school sweet heart, Eva, to Northwest Christian College in 1953. Gail and Eva were married in September 1953. Gail graduated from NCC in 1957. He was ordained in 1957 as a minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and went on to attend and graduate from Seminary at Phillips University in Oklahoma in 1958. Gail pastored several different churches during his ministry: Marcola Church of Christ in Marcola, Oregon, First Christian Church in Carmen, Oklahoma, Central Christian Church in Prosser, Washington, Treasure Valley Christian Church in Caldwell, Idaho, and North Hill Christian Church in Spokane, Washington. He also served on the regional staff of the Northwest Regional Christian Church as associate Regional Minister and as the Regional Minister of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Arizona. In retirement, he served as an interim minister at First Christian Church in Yakima, Creston Christian Church and Opportunity Christian Church. Early in his ministry he spent many weeks during the summer directing church youth camps. He was known throughout the Disciple denomination for his passion for stewardship, teaching people the importance of giving their time, talents and resources based on their love for God and the church. Gail loved everything about Christmas; caroling, hayrides, hanging of the greens, it was his favorite season. If you knew him at all you knew he loved ice cream, especially homemade ice cream. Gail especially enjoyed spending time with and watching his children and grandchildren participate in their sports and music activities. Gail�s life was centered around his beloved wife and partner Eva and his love for his family, friends, the church, and his God. Gail is survived by his wife Eva, daughters Sheri Kight and Judy Davis, grandchildren Jeremy Kight, Stephanie and Eric Ehui, Charles and Michelle Harris and Jacob Davis; and great-grandchildren Carmeron and Jordan Harris and Olivia Ehui. He is preceded in death by his parents, Katharine and Virgil Davis, his brother Gerald Davis, and his son-in-law Gary Kight. The memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 1 at 3:00pm at North Hill Christian Church, 4620 N. Post Street, Spokane.
