Rex Merle Lowman Obituary (Age 74) Passed away February 28, 2015 in Phillipsburg, Montana. He was born May 17, 1940 to Harry and Amber Lowman of Beach, North Dakota. Rex is survived by his wife Claudia; sister Dixie; sons Anthony (Katie) and Aaron (Carol); daughter Ann Marie (Tom) DeSain; sister-in-law Claudette (Richard) Sharp; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends. Rex graduated from high school in Sprague, WA in 1958 and joined the Navy for 4 years and then 18 more in the Coast Guard. Not being a �land lubber� he then served over 20 years in the Merchant Marines where he achieved the rank of Senior Chief, retiring in 2010. He remained active in Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion of Cheney, EWU-Cheney SCOPE and served an 18 month mission for his church at the Bishops Storehouse. A Memorial Service will be held at 10AM Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the Cheney Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2536 N. 6th in Cheney. Food will be served there in the cultural hall. Following the luncheon Rex will be laid to rest at MacAbee Cemetery in Sprague, WA with military honors. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Rex, please visit our Tree Store.
