Richard Carl Nyberg Obituary ( Age 83) Passed away August 25, 2017. He was born in Spokane February 7, 1934 to Carl and Louise Nyberg. Dick spent many months as a small child living in construction camps in Glacier Park, Montana. His grandpa owned Nyberg Construction, a family business that built roads throughout the park. He graduated from North Central High School in 1949. During his senior year he made All City Football as a first string tackle. This earned him a football scholarship to Washington State College (WSC) in Pullman. As a high school junior he met the love of his life, Adrienne Aslin. He gave her an engagement ring in her corsage at their senior prom. They were married in May of 1954 for 50 years. They had their first child in Spokane, then moved to Yakima where they had their last 4 children. In their spare time they started a successful dance for junior high students, then eventually found their way back to Spokane. Dick worked for Addressograph Multigraph for 33 years and proudly belonged to the Marine Corps Reserves for 9 years. Dick and Adrienne traveled to many places together and spent their winters in Mexico. Dick was a proud man who loved his family fiercely. He was loyal, patient and always a good friend. For 83 years we have been blessed to have him in our hearts and our lives. He will be forever missed. He has joined with his beloved wife Adrienne, his son Richard Owen Nyberg, his parents and his granddaughter Angela Thursby. He is survived by his brothers John and Bob Nyberg; his children Sandy Thursby, Linda, Pat and Dean Nyberg; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. The Nyberg family would appreciate either flowers for the service or a donation to the Alzheimers Association. Visitation will be Thursday 10-5PM at Heritage. Funeral Service 11:00 AM Friday Sept. 1, 2017 at Sunset Chapel in Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley Ave., followed by a reception at Heritage Funeral Home, 12:30-2:00PM, followed by a military graveside service at 2:30 PM at Greenwood Memorial Terrace, 211 N.
