Richard Charles Tobert Obituary (Age 78) Our loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend passed away at 2:51 P.M. September 8, 2017 in Spokane Valley, WA. Richard was born December 19, 1938 in Spokane, WA. He graduated from Central Valley High School in 1956. While a senior in high school, Richard was a member of the Air National Guard and was one of three young men selected from Spokane to attend active duty training at Shepards Airforce Base in Texas. After graduation, he went directly into the Navy. After his service to our country, he dabbled in this and that, then worked for American Sign and Indicator until 1968. From 1968 to 1975 he worked as a brakeman for Burlington Northern Rail Road. In 1975 Dad passed the Engineers exam and became the guy that runs the train. Richard loved his job and became an Amtrak Engineer in the mid 1990's until retiring around 2005. Richard also loved going to his high school reunions and never missed one. Richard is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Berg and her 3 children, Aaron, Josh and Sasha; son, Richard B. Tobert and wife Sharon and their two children, Ashley and Kayanna; as well as grandson, Dylan OConnell. Richard will truly be missed by his family and friends.
